Must Watch Telugu Movies Released in 2018

Best Telugu movies in 2018 - Sakshi Post

In what could be stated as a turnaround year for the Telugu film industry, 2018 has certainly prove to be a fantabulous year what with some pathbreaking movies to its credit with good content. Films like Care of Kancharapalem and Goodachari tasted massive success at the Box Office, probably for the first time in the industry's six-decade long history. Small budget films like Awe, Tholi Prema and Chalo performed on par with high-budget, star-studded films. Sukumar's Rangasthalam set a new trend for political thrillers and rural dramas in Tollywood.

Mahanati took the audience into nostalgia while Chi La Sow and Sammohanam entertained them thoroughly. The film also paved way for many more biopics in Telugu which are in the making viz, NTR Kathanayakudu, RGV's Lakshmi Parvathi and YSR Yatra.  The audience should also be credited for encouraging movies with out of the box stories. Although there are certain other films which could have made it to the list of top films to watch in 2018, performance at the Box Office gave an edge to these 10 films.

Mahanati was a feast to the eyes and gave audience a chance to go back in time and relive the life of yesteryear actress Savitri. Keerthy Suresh and Dulquer Salmaan fit their roles of the legendary couple perfectly while Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Deverakonda gave something to cheer about when the film focussed on lows in Savitri's life. All credits to director Nag Ashwin for etching a tribute to the great actress. This film stands out as the top choice in 2018.

Bharat Ane Nenu was a perfect film for those wanting to watch a political drama. The audience of the Telugu States thoroughly enjoyed the film and welcomed the film with open arms. Audience could not have asked for more as Prakash Raj was pitted in a negative role opposite Mahesh Babu, who badly needed a hit after repeated flops.

Rangasthalam would remain a classic in the history of Telugu cinema. The fact that the political thriller was set in a rural backdrop earned laurels of critics who lauded Sukumar's brilliance. The Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni film achieved the feat of becoming the third highest grossing Telugu movie of all time after the Baahubali series, the new target in the film industry.

Care of Kancharapalem was an unconventional experiment rarely seen in the Telugu film industry. The film was set in a locality in Kancherapalem town. Director Maha Venkatesh was supported by bigwigs like Rana Daggubati, who co-produced the brave venture.

Sammohanam was based on literature taken from the perspective of a book writer. Mohanakrishna Indraganti's flair as a writer-director enhanced Sudheer Babu and Aditi Rao Hydari's performance in lead roles.

Goodachari created ripples in Tollywood town with its tale based on a challenging task. That Adivi Sesh, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Madhu Shalini played the lead roles was itself an advantage for the movie. Prakash Raj and Jagapati Babu took it to the next level in important sequences.

Tholi Prema was a non-stop entertainer and many couldn't believe the film was a debut for director Venky Atluri. Commercially, the film was a success at the Box Office.

Chi La Sow is an emotional drama revolving around the life of a bachelor. Lead actors Sushanth and Ruhani Sharma did justice to their roles while Rahul Ravindran's directorial venture drew cheers from the audience.

Awe is a psychological thriller with several top actresses playing never before seen avatars. Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, Regina Cassandra, Eesha Rebba, Srinivas Avasarala, Priyadarshi Pullikonda and Murali Sharma played supporting roles while Nani and Prashanti Tipirneni played lead roles.

U Turn came was a remake of a popular Kannada film with a jaw-dropping storyline. Samantha Akkineni, Aadhi Pinisetty, Rahul Ravindran and Bhumika Chawla played the lead roles.
