KGF Beats Big Ticket Releases Zero, Maari 2
Rebel star Prabhas's Baahubali series proved that regional movies can beat films of Bollywood, the biggest film industry in India. Among the actors, Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is the most loved celebrity on facebook, twitter and Instagram. Above all, he has a huge fan following in different parts of the country. Latest we hear is that Yash's KGF is giving tough competition to the biggest releases of this week Shah Rukh Khan's Zero and Dhanush's Maari-2. According to sources, Yash's KGF has come close to SRK's Zero in terms of box office collections.
Before release of the movies, Zero got more screens than Yash's KGF. It is learnt that makers are now planning to extend the film to more screens for Yash's KGF over public demand. On its opening day, KGF was released in 1800 screens while Zero hit 4580 screens across the nation. Coming to the box office of both the movies, SRK's Zero overtook KGF by a very small margin owing to advance bookings. This is a huge record for Yash at the Kannada box office.
Once again Yash's KGF proved that content is the king of box office. The film released on Friday has received a thumping response from film critics and movies buffs. Trade pundits have expected that KGF could stand as next Baahubali in Kannada cinema. The film is faring well at the box office. At end of the theatrical run also, KGF may find it harder to beat Baahubali.
KGF film is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kirgandur. The music has been composed by Ravi Basrur and Tanishk Bagchi. Apart from Yash, KGF also features Srinidhi Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Achyutha Kumar and Nassar in lead roles. The makers are looking forward to holding success meet to express the gratitude to the audiences which could take place in the coming week.
