Prabhas Guest House in Rayadurgam Sealed
Hyderabad : Actor Prabhas's guest house located in Rayadurgam area of Hyderabad was seized by revenue authorities on Monday, as part of the government drive to reclaim Paigah lands in that area. It is a known fact that they had demolished several illegal structures and when they had came to Prabhas's guest house upon finding no one there they issued a notice and sealed the gates informing about the seizure.
According to revenue authorities, under Survey No 46 in Rayadurgam, 84.30 acres were designated as Paigah lands which has been under litigation in the High Court with the government and the Paigah heirs since 1954. The heirs claimed it was their land and there was also a court decree directing the revenue authorities to mutate it in their favour, but the revenue authorities had ignored the directives. The litigants filed a contempt case against the then Thahisildar Thirupathi Rao.
A single Bench Judge levied a fine of Rs 1500 and two months imprisonment and the Thahisildar filed an appeal with a division bench which later quashed the single bench decision and released him citing the reason that the cases were false.
About three months ago, the High Court declared in a judgement that the lands belonged to the government. Since it was elections time the revenue department refrained from reclaiming the land and with the new Government forming recently they resumed the drive to remove all the illegal structures and buildings located in this area.
In the 84.30 acres, Prabhas had bought 2200 square Yards of land and built a guest house. Apparently he had also filed a petition to regularise it under GO Number 59 which is pending with the government. As of now, the guest house is sealed and notices have been issued to Prabhas.
