Pongal Race: Rajinikanth’s Petta,  Charan’s VVR,  Ajith’s Viswasam  

Any big festival signals the release of big ticket movies in theatres. It is customary for actors to treat to the audiences on every big festival and festive season-- Pongal, Summer, Diwali, Dussehra and Christmas. Looks like the upcoming Christmas week will have a slew of releases. Several movies have been lined up for release--Zero, Atanikrasham and Yash. Latest we hear is that Superstar Rajinikanth, Mega Power star Ram Charan and Ajith, are all set to to clash at the box office on Pongal. Undoubtedly, Petta, Vinaya Vidheya Rama and Viswasam are the hugely awaited movies of 2019.

Petta: This will be Rajinikanth's first film in 2019. The film is gearing up for release in the second week of January. Helmed by Karthik Subbaraj, Rajinikanth is likely to play a school warden in the movie. Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen in a key role. The film has created much hype amongst the movies buffs with teaser and posters. It remains to be seen if Rajinikanth will continue his winning streak at the ticket window with Petta.

Vinaya Vidheya Rama: Ram Charan is the luckiest man to grab a release for his VVR on a planned date. Did you know this? Earlier, there were rumours that Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa and Prabhas's Saaho were supposed to be in the Pongal race. They backed off due to some pending work in the film. Vinaya Vidheya Rama is a blockbuster on the way. The makers have released two songs from the movie which have been lapped up by the audiences. The commercial potboiler has been directed by Boyapati Srinu and will have all the essential elements of a mega movie.

Viswasam: The film is being directed by Siva and is the fourth collaboration of Thala Ajith and the director after Veeram, Vedhalam and the spy thriller Vivegam. Viswasam is set in a rural backdrop. We hear the actor was so impressed with the script that he was keen on it. Ajith will be seen in dual roles. Nayanthara has been roped in to play his love interest in the movie. Viswasam has joined the Pongal race along with Petta.

Rajini's Petta, Ram Charan's VVR and Ajith's Viswasam are in the last leg of the shoot. These movies will soon go before the censor board in first week of December. It is learnt, Rajinikanth, Ram Charan and Ajith will kickstart the movie promotions after the new year break. It remains to be seen who will emerge as the winner in Pongal race.
