Tollywood Prince Mahesh Babu planted a sapling accepting the Haritha Haram challenge of Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao and Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Muralidhar. The Telugu actor  further nominated his daughter Sitara, son Gautham and director Vamsi Paidipalli for the challenge. He shared pictures on his Twitter handle which shows his daughter Sitara.

"Challenge accepted, @KTRTRS  & @RachakondaCop Thank you for nominating me... #HarithaHaram is a great initiative taken towards a go green environment. I now nominate my daughter Sitara, my son Gautam and my @directorvamshi to take on the challenge," Mahesh tweeted.


The Haritha Haram challenge which was started to improve the green cover across the state has gone viral among  people in Telangana after several celebrities successfully took up the challenge.

On Sunday, legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman too accepted the Haritha Haram challenge which was thrown at them by KTR.

Aiming at planting some 230 crore saplings in four years, the Telangana government has initiated this programme. So far, it has planted 80 crore saplings. To take the Haritha Haram programme to next level, the state government is planning to launch the fourth phase of Haritha Haram on August 1.
