Engineers Day: YS Jagan Pays Tributes to Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy paid rich tributes to India’s great Engineer and statesman Bharat Ratna Sri Mokshgundam Visveswaraya on his birth anniversary on September 15.


YS Jagan took to microbolgging site Twitter to pay the tributes to the pre-eminent engineer of India. He tweeted, “My humble tribute to statesman engineer Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visveswarayya. Happy #EngineersDay.”

Early in his career, Visvesvaraya designed the flood protection system for the city of Hyderabad.

Every year, his birthday, 15 September, is celebrated as Engineer’s Day in India. He was the chief engineer responsible for the construction of the Krishna Raja Sagara dam in Mysore as well as the chief designer of the flood protection system for the city of Hyderabad.
