Mohiuddin had completed his PhD in Arabic language from EFLU and his guide Jahangir had got him admitted to the madrasa, where he had been staying for the past three days, Osmania University (OU) Police Inspector P Ashok said.

A suicide note in Tamil, purportedly written by Mohiuddin, was found near his body. It stated that he was resorting to the extreme step due to some personal problems and that he was fed up with life and not eligible to live in this world, the inspector said quoting the note. Mohiuddin's body was sent to Chennai after a post-mortem was conducted and further police investigations were on.
