Eatela defends budget - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Telangana Finance Minister Eatela Rajender said that his Government's top priority was to achieve prosperity to the poor people of the state.

Speaking during the debate on the annual budget, he said the State Government was allocating enormous amounts for the welfare of the people below the poverty line. He said the Government was working hard for the uplift of the poor. He said the government has earmarked funds for the welfare of the poor.

Terming the annual budget as a practical one, he said 8,138.52 km of roads have been laid at a cost of Rs. 6,000 crore last year under the MRR scheme.
He also criticized the previous governments for their inaction and indifferenced. “Especially during the Congress rule, the state was looted for personal and political gains. The welfare of the poor was neglected,"he said.

“ As much as 86.5 percent of the allocations in the last year's budget have been spent. This year's allocations too would be completely spent,"he assured and appealed to the Opposition to offer constructive suggestions instead of merely criticising.
