E-commerce Thrives In Tibet As Online Transactions Grow By 29%
Lhasa: The volume of online transactions in Tibet grew by 29.2 per cent year on year in 2017, an official said on Sunday.
The volume of online transactions was $14. billion last year, the regional commerce department said. In 2017, the number of netizens in Tibet was around 2.17 million, about two thirds of the regional population, Xinhua reported.
Tibet reported the 25th straight year of double-digit growth last year. Regional GDP reached $20.5 billion, according to statistics announced at the 11th regional people's congress. The regional government has planned to build and renovate more roads to facilitate logistics in the region.
