E-Boarding Facility Launched at Shamsabad Airport
Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamsabad has become the first airport in India to implement an end-to-end e-boarding facility.Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Monday launched the system. It would reduce human interface and ease the movement of passengers through the airport and it will help reducing the waiting time at various check points.
What is E-Boarding
Passenger will enter flight ticket number and Aadhaar number or bar code in the Common Use Self Service (CUSS) machine once inside the airport. Passenger will receive a E-Boarding Card on his or her mobile with a QR code. This will automatically reach the other check points and you can straightaway walk up to the boarding bridge of the flight without getting checket manually at security and boarding gate. You don't need a stamping at various points. All the details of the passenger will be displayed at various points through the biometric system and those who use E-Boarding will be monitored on CCTV.
