Dubbaka SI Shoots Wife To Death, Commits Suicide  

Hyderabad: A sub-inspector shot his wife to death and then committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver at his home on Friday. While his wife died on the spot, Chittibabu succumbed to the bullet he shot into his head at a hospital minutes later.

While the officials say the SI had some personal problems, his relatives alleged that the higher officials were victimizing him and suspended him from duties three days back.

A native of Kadapa district in AP, Chittibabu is said to have been disturbed about his son who got married to a girl against parents' wish sometime recently. He is survived by a son and a daughter. Officials confirmed that he was kept under suspension on corruption charges and his family said no such orders were issued to him.

The DIG and other higher officials visited the spot and an investigation is on. Siddipet police commissioner Shivakumar said a high level official is appointed to look into the matter. He said Chittibabu was suspended previously in 2014 on corruption charges.
