Drunken man molests minor daughter, held

Hyderabad, A 45-year-old man was on Tuesday arrested for allegedly molesting his minor daughter at his house in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district of Telangana, police said.

As per reports, the incident occurred after midnight on August 3, when the accused C Nagappa, who runs a laundry in Tandur town of Ranga Reddy, went to his house in a drunken state and undressed the girl while she was sleeping and allegedly molested her, Tandur Town Inspector Venkat Ramaiah said quoting the complaint.

As the 10-year-old girl, a class fifth student, raised an alarm and her mother came to her rescue and warned her husband, the police officer said.

The woman later got her husband tied up to a pole and hit him with a chappal before lodging a complaint. A case was booked against Nagappa under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act following which he was arrested, Ramaiah said.
