Drug racket busted; three held in Hyderabad

Cyberabad police today busted a narcotic drug racket with the arrest of three persons and seized a kg of Ephedrine drug from them, police said.

Accused D Srinivasa Rao, Triloknath Yadav and A Kotireddy were nabbed by sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT). The operation was carried out along with Rajendranagar police. One kg of Ephedrine drug was seized when the accused were about to supply the narcotic substance to the prospective buyers, police said.
According to SOT Officer on Special Duty K Goverdhan Reddy, the trio earlier worked for various pharma companies here and procured Ephedrine drug which they used to sell in local market or to Mumbai. The sale of Ephedrine drug has been prohibited in the market. A case has been registered against the trio under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
