Drinking Water To Every Household In Telangana By December: KCR
Hyderabad: The third Telangana Formation Day was celebrated with much fanfare and enthusiasm in Telangana state on Friday.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao paid tributes to those martyred in the struggle for the formation of Telangana state at Gun Park. He then received an honorary salute by the police at a grand function at Secunderabad Parade Grounds.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR said the state is making progress in leaps and bounds and this was confirmed by the CAG in its annual report. "Telangana is in the forefront in terms of revenues with a staggering annual growth of 17.82 percent this year," he said adding that a major portion of the state revenues are being spent on the welfare schemes such as pensions to various downtrodden sections of society, destitute women, laborers in unorganized sectors.
KCR assured that by December this year, every household will be provided drinking water through Mission Bhagiratha.
Chief Minister gave away awards to those who displayed exceptional talent in various fields.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of Telangana on the state formation day.
The celebrations were held in districts and mandals and Ministers, MLAs and MPs participated.
