Drinking at public places prohibited during Bonalu
Hyderabad: In order to avoid untoward incidents during the ongoing Bonalu celebrations in the city, Hyderabad city Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy issued orders prohibiting consumption of alcohol at public places for one week in the city.
The prohibitive orders will be in operation from July 13 to 19.
The commissioner warned that stringent actions will be taken if any violations are spotted. He said consuming alcohol at public places would cause problems to women, commoners and children as well.
He also said that without permission, no public meetings and gatherings will be allowed. Usage of mikes on the premises of Assembly and Secretariat will not be permitted.
The Commissioner also prohibited sharp weapons like knives, swords, guns and wandering with other fatal weapons causing inconvenience to the common citizens in the city will strictly not be permitted for one week in the city.
These orders will be in force from 6:00am on July 14 to 6:00 am on July 20 and police personnel on duty, military, home guards and processions of last rites are exempted from these restrictions.
Mahendar Reddy also stated that there will be 15-day prohibition of DJ sound arrangements in the city from July 14 to 28, adding, strict actions will be taken against the violators.
