DRI Seizes Rs 23-Lakh Foreign Currency at Rajiv Gandhi Intl Airport

Hyderabad: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Hyderabad Zone, has seized foreign currency worth Rs 23 lakh at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad. The foreign currency comprising Saudi Riyals and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dirhams, according to DRI officials.
DRI Additional Director General M.K. Singh said in a press release: “The passenger was about to board Dubai-bound Air India (AI) flight. The passenger admitted to his interrogators that he was carrying the foreign currency on the behest of someone for delivery in Dubai.”
