Double Joy For Anganwadi workers, KCR Hikes Salaries Along With Designation
Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday not only hiked salaries of Anganwadi workers but also changed their designation. Anganwadi workers will be now called as Anganwadi teachers and the salary has been hiked to Rs10,500 per month from Rs7,000 per month.
KCR announced this at 'Janahitha’ programme at Pragathi Bhavan among several other benefits.
When Telangana was formed Anganwadi teachers used to draw Rs 4,200 per month. Later, it was enhanced to Rs 7,000 per month on February 28, 2015. The decision to hike salaries will benefit 67,411 employees working in 35,700 Anganwadi centers.
"Under the Arogya Laxmi scheme, we have decided to give Rs 12,000 in three installments to women who deliver their babies in government hospitals. An additional amount of Rs 1,000 will be given if it is a baby girl. This scheme will start from April 1. For the just born babies, a special Rs 2,000 worth kit having all the necessary items required for new born will be given to each mother,“ said KCR.
