Don't want to be involved in AP poll tie-up process: Venkaiah
BJP spokesman and MP Prakash Javadekar is looking into the issue of party's electoral alliance in Andhra Pradesh and a statement would be made at an appropriate time, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said here today.
"I don't give hourly status. (Prakash) Javadekar is looking into that. Let him respond as and when necessary; he will make a statement. I do not want to get involved into this," Venkaiah said, when asked about the status of talks between TDP and BJP.
The senior BJP leader, however, said he chose to stay away from the issue of BJP's alliances in Andhra Pradesh.
"What sort of a decision (on alliances)? I leave it to state party. I do not want to interfere in the process of seat-sharing, I don't want to interfere in the process of alignment of political parties or understanding with political parties in AP. Having served as party president, I do not want to get involved into these local discussions on alliances," he said.
The electoral math for parties in Andhra Pradesh appears complicated due to division of the state in carving out Telangana. According to reports, TDP, led by N Chandrababu Naidu is warming up to BJP, whereas TRS has already ended its honeymoon with Congress.
