Don't want land-'fooling': say capital area farmers
In a major shock to the AP Government, several farmers, who submitted consent letters for parting with their lands for the proposed new capital city, staged demonstrations at the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Saturday.
They demanded that the consent letters that they had given to the officials be returned.
Farmers from Betapudi village staged a protest and told the Deputy Collecor that they are not interested in parting with their lands for AP capital construction.
They raised slogans deriding the Government demanding that their contest letters should be returned.
It is learnt that the CRDA has so far collected offer letters from farmers to give 32,100 acres of land under the new "land pooling" system.
