'Does CM really feel for women's problems?'

'Does CM really feel for women's problems?' - Sakshi Post

"CM Kiran Kumar Reddy said he implemented 'Bangaru Talli' scheme to show his affection towards women. If he really cared for women, would he have allowed rape cases to increase in our state? Even minors are being raped these days. Rapists faced stern punishment during the YSR regime. The present government's slumber is the cause for insecurity among women in the state," said YSR Congress party leader Sharmila during her rachabanda programme in Khammam.

Sharmila was holding a rachabanda programme at Mucherla of Kamepalli mandal as part of her 'Maro Praja Prasthanam' padayatra.

"The government was snoring when women were being raped. And now out of the blue, the government has woken up to show its affection on the women," she said, while criticizing the CM saying he merely announces the schemes but hardly implements them.
She asked CM if he was blind to the problems faced by women due to lack of drinking water."YSR had promised to give 30 kgs of rice which was mentioned in the manifesto too. If YSR was alive he would have certainly implemented it. However, Kiran Kumar Reddy is yet to implement the scheme that would benefits thousands of poor people in the state. He is following in the footsteps of Chandrababu Naidu. During the NTR rule, he implemented Rs 2 for a kilo's rice and also a complete ban on liquor. However, Naidu who became the CM after NTR, dumped them".

Farmers and labourers shattered

"During the YSR regime, the water would be supplied for two crops. Farmers would also get seven hours' free power supply. This benefited farmers and labourers in a big way. But their miserable state now has shattered them. If farmers have a decent life, the labourers too can be happy. But the farmers are caught in deep debts as the government had betrayed them in all possible ways by depriving them of basic needs. YSR was the only person in the country to distribute 2 lakh acres of land to the tribes," Sharmila told farmers.

Amma Vodi scheme in Jagan's rule

"Jagan has announced Amma Vodi scheme during the party plenary to benefit women. Poor students of Class X would be paid Rs 500 per month while intermediate and degree students would be paid Rs 700 and Rs 1000 per month respectively. The amount will be credited to the Amma account which will be created. This money will help those who wish to pursue their studies. Now, there's merely a year left for the polls, how do you expect the Bangaru  Talli scheme to benefit women now?" she asked
