Doctors Perform Medical Procedures On Body Dead Long Ago

Mahbubnagar: In what seems to be a classic case of medical negligence, doctors treated a six-month old dead body. The shocking incident occurred at a private hospital in Mahbubnagar district on Thursday.

According to the police, couple Alivelu and Vekataiah, who belongs to Marikal village of Nawabpet mandal in the district, rushed their child to a private clinic located in Mahbubnagar town after they noticed that their kid was suffering from fever on Thursday morning.

With the non-availability of the doctors in the clinic, nurses treated the infant by giving high dose of medicine and saline. Subsequently, the child developed severe health complications.

Noticing this, the doctors shifted the infant to another hospital near Telangana Chowrastha in Mahbubnagar. However, hospital doctors declared infant brought dead. Agitated by the loss of their baby, the couple along with their family members staged a dharna at the hospital. The police registered a case following a complaint from the victims.
