Hyderabad: A doctor in the city was allegedly defrauded of Rs4 lakh by cyber fraudsters after he ordered some injections online.

According to the police, Nandeep has completed MBBS in China and was practising here in a private hospital. Recently, his friend, Linda from China, asked him to help her in getting Opdivo injections made in Germany. He found the injections on Indiamart.com and contacted Marcus Garott, a seller from JB Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited. Garott promised to send 20 injections, worth Rs13.4 lakh for which he asked Nandeep to pay Rs4 lakh in advance.

Nandeep deposited Rs3.88 lakh through cash deposit machines, after which he was told that the medicine would be delivered at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi by one Rahul Kumar on June 5. Nandeep went to New Delhi but no one had come to deliver the product. He later tried to make a call to Garott, who switched off his mobile phone.

The doctor realized that he was cheated and lodged a complaint with the police. The police registered a case and are trying to nab the fraudsters.
