Doctor betrays lover, threatens to defame her as prostitute

Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad: A young woman from Yusufguda who was pursued online through ‘we chat’ by a medical doctor and seduced with promises of marriage, found herself in a desperate situation when she was forced to abort their love child and her marriage promises replaced with exorbitant dowry demands followed by threats to defame her as a prostitute and assault her family.

N Randheer Reddy(27), a medical doctor by profession and a resident of Dilsukhnagar was employed with Oxygen Hospitals. About nine months ago he made friends with a young woman (25) from Balaji Nagar in Yousufguda through ‘we chat’. Not long after that he made a bold move and visited her at her home and expressed his love for her. He further convinced her that their marriage would not be an uphill task since they both were from the same caste.

Seduced by his formidable profile and bold moves and persuaded by his sweet talk she allowed herself to get physically intimate and soon became pregnant. Promising that he would marry her after he came back from Germany after his post graduation, he got her pregnancy terminated.
Randheer took her to Devarakonda on the pretext of marriage related talks and there demanded eight crores as dowry from her. He then dropped her off in Yusifguda saying her mother Ratnamma and brother Suresh Reddy did not approve of their marriage.

The woman’s demand for marriage was met by their family’s threats to have her family killed and a brothel case slapped on her. In her desperation she sought the help of the police by approaching the Jubilee Hills police station.

The police have taken action and booked Randheer under IPC sections 417, 420, 506 read with 34 and have taken him into custody. They are on the lookout for the other accomplices.
