Do not hike bus fares, YSRCP warns AP Govt - Sakshi Post

YSRCP has warned the AP government against hiking the RTC fares and passing on to the common man the burden of 43 per cent fitment given to the RTC employees.

YSRCP spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said that Chandrababu Naidu in his poll eve speeches promised that RTC would be merged with State Government and their pay would be on par with Central Government pay scales. “But he has gone back on the promise,” she said.

Instead of passing on the burden on to the common man, the government can remove the VAT on diesel and spare parts purchased by the RTC, she said. Padma further said that the YSRCP would oppose tooth and nail the any attempt to hike the bus fares.
