DK Aruna to Fast for Gadwal District

Hyderabad: The demands for carving out new districts have been picking pace. Already Sircilla and Janagam are on a warpath. The latest to join the battle is Gadwal in Mahabubnagar district.
Prominent leader of Gadwal and former minister DK Aruna has announced that she would stage a dharna at Indira Park in Hyderabad on Saturday and Sunday. She said the proposals for new districts are unscientific and arbitrary.
She said, Gadwal has been added to Mahabubnagar only at the time of the separation of Marathwada and Hyderabad Karnataka from the erstwhile Hyderabad State. She also demanded that Gadwal be declared as a new district.
