Digvijay Singh appeals to AP NGOs to call off strike
"The chief minister has been elected by united Andhra Pradesh, therefore, his responsibility is not for one region but for the total state," said AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh in New Delhi.
Speaking to the media after a meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Digvijaya said: "Telangana resolution is being drafted by the home ministry and as soon as the resolution is put up to the cabinet, it will be sent to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly."
Speaking on the APNGOs strike, Digvijay said " I would appeal to them please call off your strike....Because the people of Andhra Pradesh are being unnecessarily put to harassment."
Responding to questions by journalists, he asked "When the private business going on, when the private shops are open, when the private transport is functioning, when the private schools are functioning, why are government offices closed? . With folded hands I appeal to them, we are prepared to listen to all the grievances. But please come back to work and we are prepared to listen to all the difficulties. We will ensure every single employee of undivided state gets his due after bifurcation."
