Dial 100 receives 70000 calls everyday: DGP Dinesh Reddy

Law and order in the state is satisfactory, said DGP Dinesh Reddy. He was addressing a press meet on the occasion of completing his two year tenure.

The 100 service in AP is doing better than any other state and is of great help to the public, he added.

He said that of the 70,000 calls received each day, 3,000 calls concerns police. "Dial 100 has received funds worth Rs 60 crores under the MOP, which will make it even more effective. The service also helps nail culprits early," the DGP said.

Complaint receipt will be issued henceforth and reception center will also be set up at every police station, he said on the occasion. Reception centres will be set up in 90 police stations in the first phase. However, these centres will not feel like police station environment, he added.
