Dharmana's fate to be decided in court today - Sakshi Post

The fate of roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao will be known today when he appears in court in response to the summons issued by the CBI special court in the Vanpic port case.

He is the fifth accused in the case. There are nine others accused in the case including former minister M. Venkataramana and senior IAS officials Manmohan Singh and P. Samuel, will be appearing before the Nampally court on Tuesday.

There's every chance of Dharmana being arrested today. The minister could seek bail with sureties and personal bond. However, the CBI will probably oppose the bail petition.

The CBI is also likely to file a petition in court seeking police custody of the Dharmana and other accused who have not been arrested.

Taking cognisance of the fourth chargesheet filed in the Vanpic case, the CBI court had issued summons to roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao and 13 others to appear before the court on September 25.

Dharamana, who has tendered his resignation after  being questioned by the CBI twice. However, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is yet to accept his resignation. Kiran is expected to take a call today post court session.
