High Court keeps DGP appointment on hold

In a major setback to the government, the High Court, on Thursday, set aside the appointment of V Dinesh Reddy as the Director General Of Police of Andhra Pradesh.
The Court also agreed to the CAT orders which had earlier directed the state government to start afresh the process of selecting a new DGP.
The Court imposed a fine of Rs.5000 on the government and directed it to select a new DGP within a week after getting the UPSC report .
