DGP Directs SPs to Gear Up for New Districts

Hyderabad: Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Sharma has directed officials to gear up for the new districts. The DGP has reviewed the police infrastructure with district SPs. DGP has suggested SPs to ensure that police infrastructure in new districts ready by October 1.

Telangana government has already announced that new districts will come into force from Dassera festival.
DGP has also favoured giving priority to police staff who will superannuate in the next one year. They would be posted at their choice of location in the districts.
SPs are told to consult District Collectors for allotting office buildings for police stations and district headquarters.

It’s been decided to use vacant government buildings with the consent of district collectors. If no government buildings are available, police stations can be run from private properties on lease basis as per the norms of the Roads and Buildings Department.

DGP said Telangana government has allocated Rs 50 lakh to the unit office for expenses on new offices, furniture and other infrastructure, transport and miscellaneous items, the officers must limit their spending to the budget. The State government has also decided to buy new vehicles for the police department.
