Devotees throng temples on Kartik Poornima - Sakshi Post

Thousands of devotees are thronging Siva temples across the state on the occasion of Kartik Poornima.

The celebrations that began during Diwali will continue through the month. The month of Kartik in Hindu calendar is considered to be auspicious. Kartik Poornima or the full moon day especially holds a lot of importance.
People light lamps and perform 'Satyanarayana Pooja' on this day to seek blessings of God. Many temples in the city have organised special poojas and Rudra Abhishekams to invoke Lord Siva. Many temples in the city were crowded with people right from the early hours of Wednesday.
This year,  Kartik Poornima festival also coincides with the Sikh festival of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Thus Gurudwaras too are holding special events to mark the occasion.
