Despite Police Restrictions Mudragada Receives Huge Public Support For His Padayatra
Kirlampudi (East Godavari): Kapu patriarch and former minister Mudragada Padmanabam has finally managed to carry out padayatra — 'Chalo Amaravati' demanding BC status for Kapu community on Sunday afternoon from his hometown of Kirlampudi.
It may be recalled that Mudragada has been prevented on numerous occasions from taking out the padayatra by the police whenever he had planned to step out of his house. Police have on several occasions denied him permission to take out the padayatra.
As he set off for the padayatra from his house, supporters and Kapu leaders came in large numbers and joined padayatra in support of Mudragada. Speaking to media persons, Mudragada came down heavily on AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the state government for trying to suppress the Kapu agitation.
Earlier, he called upon the Kapu leaders and supporters to assemble at Kirlampudi from where the padayatra began. Mudragada would reach Rajupalem village in Guntur district, 304 kms from Kirlampudi. Later, he is likely to address the media persons and proceed to state capital city of Amaravati, which is about 50 kms from Rajupalem.
