Denied ticket, Sabita works for son's victory
Sabita Indra Reddy, the first female home minister in Andhra Pradesh, is battling political downslide of the worst kind.
Till a few months, she held the most powerful portfolio in the state and had everything going for her in her fiefdom of Rangareddy district. But, today she finds herself politically lonely.
Despite her request for party ticket, the Congress did not give her one. She is the only female minister of the outgoing cabinet, who is not contesting this time. Six other female ministers are in the fray.
While Geeta Reddy is contesting from Zaheerabad, Sunitha Laxmareddy is contesting from Narsapur. DK Aruna is fighting poll battle from her burrough of Gadwal. Galla Arunakumari has joined the TDP and is fighting from Chandragiri while Konda Surekha, who joined the TRS is fighting from Warangal East.
Sabitha Indra Reddy is now looking after the campaign of her son Karthik Reddy from Chevella Lok Sabha constituency.
