Denial of MLC ticket: Dadi's revolt against Chandrababu
Crisis in Visakha Telugu Desam deepened as Dadi Veerabhadra Rao and his supporters are up in the arms for denying MLC ticket.
Dadi expressed his strong resentment and threatened to quit if the same trend continued in the party. The TDP leader told reporters in Visakhapatnam that several parties were tapping him to join their party, but he did ignore all for the sake of party. Now, the party high command's decision has hurt the feelings of the party cadre. He said he was insulted and it was an unexpected exit for him. "Self respect, what late NTR had taught us is at stake now," Dadi said in a disturbed mood. He said the party would at least understand his feelings now. The party would have been informed well in advance that he had been kept out in the MLC race, Dadi said.
Meanwhile, the TDP high command sent its emissaries Nama Nageswara Rao and Sujana Chowdhary to pacify Dadi Veerabhadra Rao. They met Dadi and tried to persuade him, but he was not ready to heed their request. The supporters of Dadi announced to resign as their leader was ill-treated by the party.
In another turn of events, the Telugu Desam leaders of Anantapur were unable to digest the party's decision to give MLC ticket to Samanthakamani. The TDP finalised the names of Yenamala Ramakrishnudu, Samanthakamani and Mohmed Saleem.
