Demonetisation Dhamaka: Only One Viewer At Multiplex

Demonetisation of high denomination notes has made people scurry for smaller denomination notes. With people trying to save small denomination notes for exigencies, the film theatres and multiplexes are wearing a deserted look. This is the case even in rich states like Gujarat and Maharashtra.

On Friday morning a multiplex in Ahmedabad got just one viewer for its morning show. A youth wearing T shirt and jeans bought a ticket and he was the only one to do so. Yet, the theatre management decided to have the show for the sole viewer. "Despite there being only one viewer, we will still have the show," the management said and added that the phase is only temporary. They backed Modi's decision to demonetise the higher denomination currency.

The photos of the youth buying a ticket and watching the move have gone viral on the social media.
