Delayed Opening Of Post Offices Irk People
Hyderabad: In order to exchange the demonetized notes many made beelines at banks and post offices early on Thursday. However, people queued up at post offices were left disappointed as it started functioning from afternoon 2pm instead of 10am. Meanwhile, the banks started functioning on time from 8pm onwards.
The same scenario was witnessed across all the post offices, whether it was at Abids, Secunderabad, Khairatabad, Jubilee (Old City), Trimulgherry , Kacheguda and Vikarabad.
One of the members narrated his ordeal saying that he had to cancel his travel to Tirupati in the afternoon as he was held up at post office work itself.
Similar was the case with many talking narrating their woes and speaking of apathy by the officials for failing to notify in advance.
However, director of postal services in Telangana Circle, Vennam Upender justified the delay stating that the cash bundles were not disperse by RBI on time.
“Apart from Rs 2,000 currency notes Rs 50 and Rs 100 will also be issued,” said Upender.
