Debtors Gang-up, Bludgeon Man to Death
Hyderabad: A group of people, all debtors to Vadla Ashappa (43) of Jeevangi village in Ranga Reddy district, who ganged up and killed him in July at Manikonda were arrested by the Rayadurgam police here on Monday.
The group consisted of Vadla Nagaiah, Lallappa (26), Musthafa (26), Pashamian (50) and Venkatamma. In this group, Nagaiah owed some money to Ashappa and was involved in frequent quarrels with him. Also, Nagaiah had illicit relationship with Ashappa’s wife. Another member of the group, Venkatamma also owed some money to Ashappa. This duo along with Lallappa, Musthafa and Pashamian hatched a plan to eliminate their common enemy - Ashappa.
All the accused owed money to Ashappa and found a common reason to kill him.
On July 16, they invited Ashappa on some pretext and made him drink country liquor. Later, they took him to a secluded spot in Manikonda and choked him with a towel before crushing his head with a boulder.
As per their plan, Venkatamma then went and complained to the police stating one her relatives was murdered by unidentified persons in Manikonda.
However, police smelt a rat and interrogated her and then the other five people. They also recovered Ashappa’s cell phone and SIM card from them. All the accused have confessed to their crime.
