Days Before Marriage, MTech Student Commits Suicide

Hyderabad: Three days before her engagement, a 23-year-old MTech graduate allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Rajendranagar on Thursday.

P. Poojitha, a resident of Anjali Apartments at Attapur is pursuing Mtech in a private college. She took the extreme step when her family members went for marriage shopping as Poojitha's engagement was scheduled on October 1. The police suspected that the victim’s suicide was due to her marriage as the family members arranged it against her will.

The Sub-inspector of Rajendranagar M. Mallikarjun registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem.
