'Daughter Stroke' for Palvai !

Rajya Sabha MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy suffered ‘Daughter Stroke’ during these elections.

The lone daughter of the veteran Congress leader, Sravanti, contested for assembly from Munugodu in 2009 elections and was defeated then. For some reasons, Congress high command gave Rajya Sabha ticket to Govardhan later. But, his daughter could not satisfy with the position of his father and herself has a wish of becoming an MLA.

She expected a ticket in 2014 elections too but Munugodu was allotted to CPI as part of the alliance between Congress and CPI. The disappointed Sravanti filed her nomination papers to contest from here keeping aside the words of his party. 

Sensing danger, the party deputed union minister Jairam Ramesh to settle the matter. He requested Govardhan to make his daughter withdraw her nomination papers. However, Govardhan told Jairam that his daughter was not listening to his words. With this, Jairam advised Govardhan to campaign against his daughter in these elections.

But, Govardhan has to bow down to the pressure from his family members ultimately and took the final decision of campaigning for his daughter. With this, the party has to issue a show cause notice to Govardhan.
