Danam Nagender resigns as city Cong chief
The after shocks of the GHMC elections are beginning to be felt. After the resounding drubbing, former minister and City Congress President Danam Nagender has announced his resignation from the party post. He however said that he would remain a loyal soldier of the party.
Interestingly, Danam Nagender indirectly blamed the party leadership for not giving him complete power during the elections. "Though I did not have complete power, I still take the responsibility for the rout," he said.
He also gave enough indications that he is veering towards the TRS. He praised both KCR and KTR for their post-victory comments and said the promises given by them need to be fulfiled. Significantly, Danam Nagender tried to join the TRS ahead of the elections, but decided against at the last minute. The Congress did not trust him and confined him to Khairatabad division, which the Congress lost.
