Daily Wage Labourer Rapes Daughter For a Year

New Delhi: A daily-wage labourer repeatedly raped his 15-year-old daughter for over an year. The accused has been arrested by the police at Jagatpuri area in the national capital on Saturday evening following a complaint lodged by the victim's mother.

A year ago, the accused came home drunk and found his daughter alone. As his wife and son were out, the accused took advantage of the situation and raped the girl. He also threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed it to anyone. Since then, he had been sexually assaulting the girl over the last one year, the police said.

On Saturday, her mother noticed some money missing and questioned her daughter about the same. The girl told her mother that she was unwell. Subsequently, the mother took her to the hospital where the girl recounted the sexual assault horror.

The girl is a student of Class IX while her elder brother is working to support the family. A case has been registered against the accused under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
