Injured SI Naga Malleswara Rao 

Dacoits wreaked havoc at a toll plaza in Prakasam district and attacked several persons, including an SI. The police SI suffered knife injures and has been rushed to the hospital. He is stated to be out of danger.

According to the police, dacoits attacked the toll plaza at Bollapalli in Martur mandal of the district on Monday morning. They also stopped the lorries and threatened to attack them if they did not shell out money. A bus driver informed the police and local SI Naga Malleswara Rao rushed to the spot. But, the dacoits, who were armed with knives and swords, attacked him too. The SI suffered several stab injuries.

Meanwhile, with more police coming to the place, the dacoits took to their heels. The police are combing the area to nab the culprits.
