Cyrus Mistry Slams Tatas For Unceremonious Removal, Seeks PM Appointment

Mumbai: Cyrus P Mistry, who was replaced as the interim Chairman by Ratan Tata at Tata Sons on Monday, has criticized the way he was removed by the board of directors. Mistry, as markets sources claim, is also seeking an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mistry wants to bring his version of argument against his dismissal to the notice of Prime Minister Modi.

Mistry sent an email to board of directors stating that the decision in harsh and scathing terms terming the move 'unparalleled in the annals of corporate history." Mistry further said that he coulnd't perform as he was anticipated because of changes in the articles of association of Tata Sons which had reduced the power of the Chairman.

Mistry further said that the decision had left him shocked beyond words. He has also described the board proceedings as invalid and illegal. Mistry alleged that he had not been given a free hand to manage the affairs of the sprawling salt-to-software group.
