CVR Engineering Students Protest Against Fee Hike

The students lead by ABVP have decided to file a PIL against the institution - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Students of CVR Engineering College at Ibrahimpatnam staged a protest in front of Telangana Admission & Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) office in the city on Wednesday over the huge fee hike.

The students lead by ABVP have decided to file a PIL against the institution as reportedly, the students have to shell out Rs 20,000 more to get their degree.

"We requested the police to send at least 10 of us inside so that we can have a word with the officials, but in vain. Now, we have no option apart from filing a PIL in the court," said Dileep J, ABVP Secretary.

Meanwhile, TAFRC officials ruled that they have revised the fee upon High Court's order.

"The management wanted to increase the fee by Rs 20, 000, but by taking students into consideration, we increased it by Rs 4,800. Now, if we talk or give students some relief, it will be contempt of court," said Prof V Rama Rao, Consultant, TAFRC.
