Curious Case Of Rats Consuming 45 kgs Ganja Shocks Judge

Dhanbad: In a mysterious incident, rats have eaten away 45 kgs of ganja that was in possession with police. The incident occurred at Dhanbad town in Jharkhand state.
According to the details, the Dhanbad police arrested a drug peddler Sivaji Kumar and recovered ganja weighing 145 kgs at Dhanbad GT Road in July, 2016. The contraband was being exported from Bihar to Kolkata.
When the ganja was recovered, it was shifted to Barwadda police station where it was stored in a room. A chargesheet was also filed on July 11, 2016 following the seizure.
During the court's hearing of the case, the police officials presented the recovered ganja before the Judge. The judge got curious when some 45 kgs ganja was missing from the actual weight of 145 kgs that was mentioned in the chargesheet.
Shocked over the missing of weed, the Judge directed the investigating officer to submit a detailed report on the case. Interestingly, the investigating officer on Thursday claimed that rats have eaten up the ganja and thus the recovered bag has lost 45 kgs of contraband when it was stored in the police station.
The case reminds a recent incident in Bihar when officials claimed that rats drank off 9,00,000 litres of liquor. Even in Nagpur, cops mentioned in a report that was submitted to the state government that 25 kgs of ganja was eaten away by rats.
