CSK Match Schedule For IPL 2018
The Chennai Super Kings are back in the Indian Premier League (IPL), after being left out of the tournament due to a two year ban. The two time IPL champions have reunited under its captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, with a blend of experience and energy in seasoned international cricketers and young domestic players. CSK have retained an important crux of their players, with captain MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo and allrounder Ravindra Jadeja back with the team. However, the Chennai team will miss local boy and seasoned CSK player, Ravichandran Ashwin, who was bagged by the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the player auction this year. Ashwin will captain the KXIP team this season.

Experienced off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is a major addition to the CSK squad this season. The Dhoni-led team will also enjoy the services of South-African spinner Imran Tahir. Kedar Jadhav and Ambati Rayudu, who have experience playing in the international level, will be important for CSK’s chances of IPL victory on comeback this season. Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson and Sam Billings add to CSK’s fire power, which will be vital in run chases with Dhoni coming down the batting order to finish the innings. Domestic players Deepak Chahar, Asif KM, Dhruv Shorey and Jagadeesan Narayan could pull out a surprise over the course of the season.

CSK will commence their IPL 2018 campaign in the inaugural match of the season at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium against hosts, defending IPL champions Mumbai Indians. The Chennai Super Kings will play seven matches at their home ground, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK’s last group stage tie will take place on May 20 at their home ground, against Kings XI Punjab.
