Bank Manager Arrested For Cheating Two Women In The Name of Marriage
NANDYAL: Andhra Police have arrested a bank manager for cheating two women, where he was engaged to another girl, but was almost on the verge of marrying another young woman on Sunday.
As per details, the accused Mohan Krishna who hailed from Tirupati was working as a branch manager in the State Bank of India. He got engaged to a girl from Maktal in Mahabubnagar district, Telangana on August 24. Mohan Krishna's family had also taken Rs 12 lakhs cash and 6 tolas of gold as dowry. The wedding was supposed to take place in October. However, later the accused Mohan Krishna's brother Veera Prasad informed the family of the bride-to-be that the horoscopes were not matching and cancelled the marriage. They also did not return the dowry amount. After which the girls parents filed a police complaint against him in Makthal police station.
Meanwhile the accused was going to marry another girl at the Mahanandeeshwara Temple in Nandyal at Kurnool district on Sunday. Upon getting to know of this the police arrested Mohan Krishna and his brother Veera Prasad, at the wedding hall itself and took him to the police station.
The family of the young woman who he was currently going to get married to told the police that he had asked for Rs 15 lakh cash and 12 tolas of gold. Interestingly he had already taken the same amount of RS 12 lakhs and 6 tolas of gold in advance from the girl's parents.
The parents of the girl filed a cheating case against Mohan Krishna and his family with the police.
The grooms brother Veera Prasad was a former employee of Canara Bank in Nandyal. The police got to know that he already had cheating case filed against him in the year 2008. It was reported that he had taken RS 400 from unemployed youth, promising them to give ideas of how to earn RS 30,000. Believing him, more than 300 men had paid RS 400 per person.
