TN: Teenager Accused Of Rape Commits Suicide In Observation Home 

Tirunelveli: A 17-year-old boy who was arrested on charges of raping a woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in the government observation home for children in here.

The teenager was arrested on October 8 on charges of raping a 48-year-old woman while she was grazing cattle, according to a report.

According to police, the teenage boy had complained of stomach ache on Sunday night and was rushed to the hospital. He died on the way.

Initial investigation found out that the child had consumed poison. Police is trying to trace how he managed to get the poison at the observation home.

He was booked under several sections of the IPC, Section 376 (rape) 342(wrongful confinement)and 326(causing injury by weapons and criminal intimidation, police said.
