Alcoholic Police Constable Kills Self On Duty
Hyderabad: A constable from Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) deployed at the Chief Minister's farmhouse at Eraavelli in Medak, shot himself on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as A Venkateshwarlu of 2003 Battalion and hailed from Nalgonda's Chada Village.
Police suspect that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. He was absent from his work without informing his superiors. He was warned to discontinue his service by the superiors.
He then approached his superiors along with his wife and children. They urged superiors to take him back to the work on an assurance that he will stay away from alcohol.
He was deployed at Chief Minister's farmhouse on October 1. After assuming charge he started consuming alcohol.
It is reported that he was shot himself with an AK 47.
A case of suspicious death has registered at Markuk Police station.
