Three More Arrested In IMS Scam

Hyderabad: Anti-corruption Bureau arrested three more person in the multi-crore Insurance Medical Services (IMS) department scam here on Monday.

According to reports, so far 13 people have been arrested in connection with this scam. Venkateswara Health Centre proprietor Dr Ch Arvind Reddy, supervisor K Ram Reddy and lab technician K Likhit Reddy were arrested on Sunday night followed by investigation at their houses in which few incriminating evidences were found.

Ram Reddy and Likhit Reddy are siblings, and on the directions of Arvind they sold the medicines to different buyers, when they were actually meant to be given to government dispensaries.

“The trio collected stocks of medicines and medical kits from the office of Dr K Padma and on her direction sold the material to different people in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The medicines and kits were initially diverted to the godowns of Arvind Reddy located in Balnagar, Dulapally and Chintal areas. From there, on the direction of Arvind, the other two accused would transport the medicines to buyers," Anti-corruption Bureau said to a daily.
